CAMPUS | Training Programs
CAMPUS offers a variety of programs designed to train and inspire young people in their journey of spiritual and professional excellence.
- MISSIONARY TRAINING PROGRAM
The Missionary Training Program prepares interested young people to be missionaries in a public university setting. It is a two-semester, hands-on program that combines sound classroom instruction with practical field training in soul winning and outreach activities. The program typically runs from August to April, overlapping the Fall and Winter semesters at the University of Michigan. Missionary Training program applicants should be prepared to participate in the ExCel program as well.
- L.E.A.D.S.
LEADS (Leadership Education And Development Seminar) offers an intensive five-day training program to students, leaders, and pastors involved in secular campus ministry. Currently, l.e.a.d.s. is held every second week in July, Wednesday to Sunday.
- RETREATS
Retreats are held during one weekend in each of the Fall and Winter semesters. They provide spiritual and social benefits to students seeking to maintain and share their faith on their campuses. Activities at these weekend retreats include inspiring messages, uplifting music, testimonies, fellowship, and biblical instruction and training for outreach.
- F.O.C.U.S.
FOCUS (Faith and Outreach Camp for University Students) is currently being developed as a week-long training camp for pre-college students to help them live out and share their Adventist faith when they attend secular colleges and universities.
- ExCEL
ExCEL (Excellence through Canvassing, Evangelism, and Lifestyle) trains students during the summer with practical people skills particularly for canvassing and evangelism. The program attracts students from all over the country and embues them with the principles of evangelism as lifestyle and excellence as one of these main principles.
- GYC
CAMPUS is the birth place and official sponsor of the GYC, a grassroots young people's movement committed to academic, professional, and spiritual excellence, as well as to the mission of the Adventist church. CAMPUS considers GYC as an extension of its training program. (www.gycweb.org)
